RENOVATION & ADDITION
SUPPORTIVE ARCHITECTURE™ IN PRACTICE
SECRET ABOVE THE GARAGE
The owners wanted their home to work better for everyday life, entertaining, and time with their grandchildren. Their priorities were unusually personal—from a kitchen and family area designed around entertaining and a specially detailed home for a beloved bird, to better access and views toward the pool and outdoor living areas.
Those priorities helped organize the larger decisions.
A new stair connected the renovated kitchen area with the second floor and basement, improving movement through the house. Upstairs, the primary suite expanded over the garage to include an exercise room, office, and new bath with a roll-in shower. A concealed video screen and sound system supported entertaining without dominating the room.
The result wasn’t based on how a home should be used. It grew from understanding how these owners wanted to live in theirs.
