a nearly 200-year-old house high above the Delaware River as the home they hoped to share for the rest of their lives.<\/p><p>Their decisions began with that long view. An expanded kitchen opened to a former porch, creating an informal dining area connected to everyday life. Fewer bedrooms allowed one to become a more generous primary suite. Relocating the stair improved circulation through the house.<\/p><p>The renovation also substantially improved energy performance, while new openings brought in more daylight and strengthened views toward the river.
